Nelson grew up in Pennington, NJ. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Wyoming, and a professional certificate in school leadership from the University of Denver. He currently works as an elementary school principal for the Aurora School District. Nelson and his wife Amy have been married since 1996 and they are parents to Brennan, Sadie, Arnold, and Elise. Nelson seeks to serve God and his Church in all areas of his life.
